The Highgate Homeowners Association is pleased to notify you that the annual tree pruning for the large front yard trees in the Highgate community is scheduled to occur April 8-10. Regular pruning of the front yard trees helps provide a neat, attractive look to our neighborhood, increases safety and helps extend the life of the trees.
Based on an inspection of the trees by our tree contractor (JL Tree), we plan to trim all large front yard trees for all units this year. Our plan is to prune all trees to the previous cuts and thin out the middle of the trees where needed. This pruning will really help reduce the top-heavy nature of the Bradford Pears and provide a neater appearance for the trees. If you would like to increase or decrease the extent of the pruning on your front year tree, please coordinate with your neighbor and notify Bear Warga (nilswarga@hotmail.com) prior to April 1 who will coordinate with the tree contractor.
What you need to do: During the tree trimming process, please do not park your car in the driveway to allow the work crew access to your trees and reduce the risk of damage to your car.
Backyard Trees: As you know, backyard trees are the responsibility of individual homeowners and the Highgate HOA does not provide any pruning services for those trees. However, we have arranged for JL Tree to offer pruning services for backyard trees, the cost of which is the responsibility of the homeowner. As you assess if you want your backyard trees pruned, please be mindful that your backyard trees should not encroach on or interfere in any way with your neighbor’s backyard. If you would like JL Tree to prune your backyard trees, please notify Bear Warga (nilswarga@hotmail.com) by April 1 who will coordinate with the tree contractor to provide you a cost estimate and timetable for this service.
Please direct all questions and comments relating to the tree pruning to Bear Warga (nilswarga@hotmail.com), a member of the HOA Board.
Thanks in advance for your help!
