Rubberized Asphalt Membrane Installation - 1505-1507 Terraces
Posted on Aug 25th, 2026
KGS has made considerable progress on the 1505-1507 terrace and nearly completed demoing the entire space. As a result, we wanted to inform residents of the next step in this project where KGS will be installing a hot, rubberized asphalt membrane to help provide waterproofing protection for the terrace and garage space in early September. This installation is expected to cause a foul smelling odor similar to asphalt pavement during roadwork that will permeate in the air until it has cooled. In addition, we want to be very clear that no one should walk on this material at all to help allow it time to cool and cure. NO persons or animals should walk on the installation because they will get stuck, possibly get seriously burned, and damage the waterproofing seal. It takes several days for the materials to set and cool before it is safe to walk on. Every effort will be made to close off the space and prevent people from walking in this space, but please make every effort to communicate this to visitors and delivery drivers as well.
We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we continue moving forward with this project and will provide additional updates on this project as they become available.
